Cast to kick off US Leg of the “Nashville In Concert” Tour in July
Nashville – (June 21, 2017) – Stars of the Lionsgate-produced and distributed hit series “Nashville” played two sold-out shows at Manchester’s O2 Apollo Saturday. Following the shows, tour producer, Opry Entertainment, donated £10,000 to the British Red Cross “UK Solidarity Fund” on behalf of the touring cast, Clare Bowen, Chris Carmack, Charles Esten, Sam Palladio and Jonathan Jackson. The fund was set up by the British Red Cross to help victims of terror attacks throughout the UK.
After having to relocate their show to the O2 Apollo because their scheduled location at the Manchester Arena remains closed after the May 22 terrorist attack, the Manchester Evening News stellar review raved, “Clare Bowen, Charles Esten, Chris Carmack and Jonathan Jackson put on a powerful and poignant performance at the O2 Apollo.” Read the full review HERE of the Nashville cast’s performance and tribute to ‘the very people who stepped at the right moment’ after the Manchester terror attack.’
“From the moment the Manchester Arena attack took place, the touring cast of Nashville wanted to know what they could do to show their support of the city and its residents,” said Opry Entertainment President Steve Buchanan. “Though we were not able to play at Manchester Arena, there was never any question we were going to perform somewhere in the city, and for as many fans as possible. The two shows performed at Manchester Apollo proved once again the power of music to heal and unite.”
On Friday, “Nashville in Concert” played to a record crowd of over 11,000 enthusiastic fans in Glasgow’s The SSE Hydro.
"Besides getting an extra day to wander around Glasgow, I was able to record a brand-new single in a local studio. Add to that a gorgeous meal with the cast and crew of the tour. And all of this before getting to the best part of all: playing our music for 11,000 mad Glaswegians! The atmosphere, the response, the love in that arena? Flat out amazing. It was a night and a trip that I won't soon forget!" - Charles Esten
The tour is produced by Opry Entertainment.
“Nashville” airs on six continents and 225 territories worldwide, including the United Kingdom.
